About the album
OXYMOREWORKS is the second chapter of Oxymore — Jarre's 2022 homage to Pierre Henry and the French musique concrète tradition.
Rather than commissioning remixes, Jarre invited nine artists into the sessions themselves. Each track was composed and produced with its collaborator, so what emerges is closer to a dialogue than a reinterpretation: Brian Eno, Martin Gore and others pulling the source material toward their own sonic territory while Jarre reshapes it around them. Titles like "Brutalism Reprise", "Epica Maxima" and "Zeitgeist Botanica" signal the approach — familiar forms, reopened and taken somewhere else.
It continues the collaborative instinct behind Electronica, applied this time to a single body of work: one album, heard nine ways.
