About the album
On 11 March 1994 Jarre played Hong Kong Stadium, with tickets gone within two days.
Alongside his own band he had the Chuen Ying Arts Centre Chinese Orchestra, conducted by Cheng Chai-Man, and the Hong Kong Opera Society choir — a setup that gave pieces like "Souvenir of China" and "Fishing Junks at Sunset" their natural home.
The album takes that concert as its frame. The programme is weighted towards Chronologie, released the year before, with "Chronologie 2", "3", "4", "6" and "8" alongside "Oxygène 4", "Équinoxe 4", "Magnetic Fields 2", "Band in the Rain" and "Fourth Rendez-Vous". The one piece unique to this release is "Digisequencer" — fast, abstract and largely a showcase for the sequencer itself, ending on an organ-like swell.
Released in 1994 on Disques Dreyfus, licensed to Polydor. Two discs, 83 minutes. Mixed at Croissy Studio and mastered at Masterdisk, New York.
