In search of lost sound

 

“With the progress of technology, the conditions of recording music in the studio have advanced considerably, whereas the means of listening in general have not ceased to regress: the vinyl has been replaced by the CD, largely inferior in quality, which has now given way to even more low-grade MP3 files.


We have progressively lost our emotional rapport with sound. 


Not that long ago, the Hi-Fi system was the centrepiece of our living-rooms, today we listen to music on small plastic speakers connected to our computers.


As music has become nomadic, we have become less demanding of the quality of the listening devices.


As a musician, I have always strived for my albums and live performance to render a sound as close as possible to perfection. This brought me to think of what the ideal sound-system of the future should be: A product that can accept all digital formats, from MP3 to hard-disk files, as well as a vinyl turn-table or a CD player, with an aesthetic ambition while privileging optimum audio quality – with bass and a dynamic acoustic that correspond to our listening habits today - all at a most affordable price.


AeroSystem One is the result of these assessments and technical research, the first of a range of audio products – a range dedicated to visual is to follow.”

Mise au Point


"Suite à une mauvaise interprétation, voire une mauvaise traduction d'une interview que j'ai donné récemment au magazine anglais Uncut, je souhaite rectifier les propos qui me sont prêtés et qui courent un peu partout sur le net depuis ce matin.

 

Je n'ai jamais dit que l'Internet était mort, pas plus que je n'ai évoqué l'expression "imposture moche" à propos d'internet, qui est un outil dont je n'ai pas à vanter les évidents mérites!

 

J'ai simplement avancé l'idée, qu'après une époque où Internet est considéré comme un espace de liberté, une grande toile fraternelle sur laquelle tout le monde échange tout, plus ou moins gratuitement, il se pourrait bien que les rebelles de la prochaine génération "prennent le maquis" du web en considérant qu'il est devenu la plus grande machine d'exploitation de tous les temps, contrôlé par des multinationales bien plus puissantes que les majors du disque ne l'ont été par exemple, dans le domaine de la musique ces dernières années...

 

Ceci est un exemple, parmi d'autres, nous montrant que, constamment, n'importe quelle info circule, n'importe comment, sur le web. Notre responsabilité et la plus grande difficulté de notre relation, dans les années à venir avec le web, va être de vérifier la véracité du flot d'informations que nous recevons à chaque seconde, en particulier quand on les relait.. Jean Michel Jarre was in London tonight, invited by MOJO and received the MOJO Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding career.

Kosice, May 28th postponed to 16th November


Dear Friends

Today we have sad news, our Slovakian promoter passed away. Our thoughts are going to his family, relatives and friends.

The result is that we have to postpone the concert in Kosice to the 16th of November 2010. Tickets bought for the concert in Kosice at Steel Arena are still available for the concert in November.

We are very sorry for the people who organized themselves for the Kosice concert this week and we promess them a fantastic show in November.
